Every day teachers are making a difference and inspiring young people to be the best they can be. To recognize and say thank you for the contributions teachers make in our classrooms and communities, UNESCO established the first World Teachers' Day in 1997.
Today, the holiday is celebrated in more than 100 countries around the world every year. It represents a significant token of the awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the contribution that teachers make to education.
This year World Teachers' Day will be held on October 28, 2016. This is a great opportunity for your child to show appreciation to their teacher. It is also an opportunity for you as a parent to say thank you for the effort that teachers put into moulding your little one into a grown up.
Call your local florist to arrange a little posy, or combine with other parents to surprise the teacher with a massive arrangement for the whole class!
Your child's teacher will feel supported and appreciated every time they look at their beautiful arrangement sitting on their desk. You can even have your child write out what they like about their teacher in a sweet card message.
